Nervosa part of Bètabreak

Film meets science on October 5th, when the short film NERVOSA (written and directed by Thessa Meijer) is part of a special Bètabreak Uva edition at Science Park in Amsterdam.

After screening the film (13 min), we will discuss the critical inner ‘voices’ of individuals diagnosed with eating disorders, together with experts Dr. Suzanne Mares, senior researcher at GGNet Amarum, and Leonie Muller, psychotherapist and GZ-psychologist. Could group schema therapy potentially be a viable treatment option? Other than discussing their research and experience in health care, we will also give an insight into the lived-experience of an individual battling this mental illness.
